Empty Booking System/Port License Fee

Following the successful trial of this new empty booking system in WA and QLD, which has resulted in a much faster and orderly

turn-around for trucks at container parks, many empty container parks have now implemented the same booking requirements

in NSW, VIC and SA effective from 9th July 2012.

We are now required to book time slots for re-delivery of all empty equipment to container parks, these facilities are also charging

fees as they have in other states during the trial period. Effective from today 10th July 2012, we will have to pass on these costs to

all clients. These charges will be $ 25.00 per container and this cost will appear on your charges invoices as “Empty Booking Fee”.

A Melbourne Port Licence Fee has also been introduced by all shipping lines at short notice, also effective from 9th July and this will

be billed as part of FCL port charges. For LCL charges, costs of AUD 3.00 per cubic metre or 1000kgs will be shown separately on all future

GPSM invoices.

We regret the need to pass on these direct costs to all clients at a time when we are all trying to minimise cost increases.
