Shipping Lines announced in mid-April 2012 that a General Rate Increase of USD 500.00/20ft FCL and USD 1000.00/40ft FCL would be implemented on all trades from South East Asia and Indian Sub-Continent ports to Australia effective from 1/5/12. GPSM are pleased to advise that in most cases, our current rate levels have been re-negotiated to be effective until end May 2012 without any increase with many of our preferred carriers. There have been some minor adjustments with some load ports/services, but generally current rates are still applicable.
Lines are now announcing that a General Rate Increase of USD 300.00/20ft and USD 600.00/40ft container will be applied to this trade effective from 1st June, 2012.
GPSM will be negotiating with the various carriers and we will keep you advised of further developments closer to the announced implementation date.
